A few words about JOELLE inc.

Created in 2016, JOELLE inc., is a growing manufacturing company specializing in the design, manufacturing and distribution of products in the retail sector. The company has a vast international manufacturing network, as well as several entities located in Quebec including two physical points of sale, an online point of sale, a distribution center as well as offices in Trois-Rivières and Montreal.

Your team

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Controller is responsible for ensuring the reliability of financial data (OPEX and CAPEX). This position offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional looking to play a key role in the company's strategic decision-making.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze financial information such as: measuring the economic value created by a new company initiative, analyzing P&Ls associated with e-commerce and store activities, evaluating and comparing investments made in different activities or projects so that management general makes informed decisions;
  • Support and collaborate with different departments such as supply chain, logistics, purchasing, international production, etc.;
  • Analyze the performance of different sales channels;
  • Analyze commercial investments in order to understand possible deviations according to budgets/forecasts;
  • Analyze financial data during closings and explain deviations from budget processes;
  • Ensure the relevance and completeness of budgeted data during budgets/forecasts;
  • Analyze the operational expenses (OPEX) of the different commercial and corporate cost centers during closings, and explain the variations compared to the budget/forecasts;
  • Understand and explain the impacts of investments on cash flow;
  • Analyze the assumptions relating to operational expenses and investments initially established during budgets/forecasts, and question their relevance;
  • Prepare and present financial statements;
  • Manage the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial operations.
Your interpersonal skills
  • Be disciplined, organized and rigorous;
  • Be resourceful and self-taught;
  • Have a good ability to adapt to changes.

Your know-how

  • Hold a university degree (BAC) in accounting sciences;
  • Have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Have excellent command of Microsoft Excel software;
  • Have experience with an integrated management system (ERP);
  • Have a good command of French and English, both spoken and written.
